Who we areWe are two Grade 3 teachers with a shared passion for learning, gardening and all things STEM.
This website was developed to share what we've learned in our class with the rest of the world. Mrs. Pinsent graduated from Memorial University in 2003 with a B. Ed. (Prim/Elem) with a concentration in Science. She completed her teaching internship at Memorial's campus in Harlow, England, and has had a love of travel ever since. Mrs. Pinsent went on to receive a B. Sp. Ed. from Memorial in 2006 and an M.Ed in 2013. Mrs. Pinsent spent four years as a Special Education teacher before transferring to Woodland Elementary for a Primary Classroom position in 2008. This is her third year teaching Grade 3, and her first time completing a STEM project with TIA at Memorial University. She is a mom to two little boys, aged 2 & 4. Mrs. Colbourne graduated from Memorial University in 2006 with a B.Ed. (Prim/Elem) with a concentration in English. She substituted for a short period of time before becoming employed with the then Eastern School District as Special Education teacher. She has taught in several schools in the NLESD including St. Edward's Elementary in Placentia and St. Anne's Academy in Dunville. This is her second year teaching in the Grade 3 classroom as well as her second year completing a STEM project with TIA at Memorial University. She a proud mom of a soon to be 3 year old little boy named Max and is exciting about starting her maternity leave with baby #2 in the Fall.
